Cantus Ensemble
The Cantus Ensemble was founded in Tehran-Iran in 2012 by Kaveh Mirhosseini for the promotion of Contemporary Classical Music. At the first stage Cantus Ensemble focused on Contemporary music and the study of composers such as Arvo Pärt , Krzysztof Eugeniusz Penderecki , Henryk Mikołaj Górecki , Philip Glass , Peteris Vasks , John cage , Christian Wolff and Morton Feldman.
In spring 2017, Cantus Ensemble Participated in 2nd. Tehran Contemporary Music Festival (TCMF) as a large String Orchestra to perform Concerto Violin No.2 by Philip Glass (Soloist: Arash Asadnezhad) and “Illumination” Concerto for Violoncello by Kaveh Mirhosseini (Soloist : Gökçe-Bahar Oytun) which were both conducted by Kaveh Mirhosseini. After the Concert, Cantus recorded “Illumination” in the studio of Tehran Music Museum (TMM) located in Tehran, Iran.
In autumn of 2017, Cantus Ensemble world premiered eight pieces from five composers who included Kaveh Mirhosseini, Armin Sanayei , Nader Mashayekhi , Arshia Samsaminia , Soosan LolaAvar.
In 2018, Cantus Ensemble world premiered pieces under Kaveh Mirhosseini’s Baton, which included pieces such as The Lost Truth & Mizak by M.R.Darvishi , For Those… by Mehran Rohani, Allah-May Khani his own composition. The main goals of the Cantus Ensemble are to Commission the Pieces to Composers and then to World Premier, Record and Publish them.
The Cantus Ensemble is not just a String Orchestra, Depending on the type of Pieces and Repertoires it is open from Solo Pieces to Orchestra.

Cantus Ensemble performed my music in a very friendly atmosphere and with so much care and respect to my score.The performance received with joy and admiration by the audience and that was because of the conductor’s broad knowledge in many aspects of music and specially in the forms and styles of the contemporary Iranian composers.”
